Interview with Patsy Stanly
 
 
This is just a short interview I did with my mentor, Patsy, so everyone could pretty much get to know who she is and what she does.

Q:  What exactly is your job at the sheriff's department?
A:  I am over the criminal division personnel and crime
      scenes.
 
Q:  What do your duties consist of?
A:  Incoming and outgoing of all warrant, subpeanos,
     summons, purchasing all personnel equipment,
     notetaking at crime scenes.
 
Q:  What kind of schooling was needed for this job?
A:  A high school diploma is required.  BLET.  Extra
      law enforcement training regarding crime scenes. 
      Also must be 21.
 
Q:  Any tips on good investigative skills?
A:  Always make sure the scene is secured so nothing
     will interfere with your crime scene.
 
Q:  What made you go into this field?
A:  I liked the fact that it was challenging and i also
     wanted to be able to "catch the bad guys".
 
Q:  What do you like best about your job?
A:  I enjoy my job all around and it's laid back.  You're
     not just a number, they look at you as a person.
 
Q:  Is this the only place you've worked in this field?
A:  Yes
 
Q:  What is the worst part about your job?
A:  It can sometimes be stressful because people tend
      to mouth off .
 
Q:  Any advice for someone going into this field?
A:  You must be very level-headed and have a lot of
      selfesteem.  Also need to be laid back because if
      not, you will get too stressed.  You also need to
      stay athletic.  Cannot be tired and need to be able
      to talk to someone. 
 
Q:  What is the average salary for this job?
A:  26-28,000 in this area.  Sometimes 30,000
      because of overtime
